The Old 97’s on the Web this week (I know, some of this is old, but I’ll do this sort of thing more often from now on.):

TGTV1 reviews:

American Songwriter

Texas Music (click Issue 35 to download the PDF.)

Crawdaddy

Also, interviews with Murry in Free Gotham and Metromix Phoenix.

And finally, a little love from Rainn Wilson.

My son interviewing the band in the studio, while they were recording “the actor” for TGT Vol 2 the first 10 minutes of a 15 minute interview. This kid got up at 5 in the am to write 20 interview questions. So, cool.

His last question of the interview. “Did music help you when you were a kid”? Keep in mind he’s a 7 year old audiophile who absolutely loves the 97’s

  1. Thanks for compiling these. I love the Crawdaddy review because it takes account of the calibre of the Old 97’s. In a perfect world, they are a household name, like the Beatles. But we must all be satisfied with a less than perfect world, and be grateful that we have their music to help us with that task!
