The Old 97’s played historic Gruene Hall this past Friday night, returning for the first time since the recording of the double live album Alive & Wired oh so many years ago. It wasn’t quite as sweltering as those summer dates, but remarkably hot nonetheless, in every sense of the word. The sold-out crowd was a fun mix of Austin hipsters, San Marcos Greeks, and a good number of us “old enough to know better” types. Enjoy some video from the show below.

  1. Ah yes, a hot steamy night it was at Gruene. The guys were on fire. Always a great time rocking out on the front row, but to see the guys at Gruene was remarkable. There’s one more thing I can cross off my leap list. Thanks for the link to my pix. There are also a ton of vids from Tulsa and Gruene Hall on my YouTube page – http://www.YouTube.com/RhettMillerFan

  2. Great show! I’m happy my first concert experience at Gruene Hall was the Old 97’s!
