If you're like me your favorite song changes all the time. Right now its Friends Forever. I never really listened to that song that much but I've been listening to it nonstop for the past couple of days. (I'm actually listening to it right now) I have also been listening to Doreen and Melt Show a lot. I'll probaby find a new 97s song to listen to next week though. lol.

Couldn't name just one... BUT, I have always loved "Adelaide"  (you probably guessed!).  At a solo show in Toronto last year, Rhett asked for requests, and since I was right up front   I asked for Adelaide.  He said he was sorry, but it had been so long since he'd played it, he didn't think he could pull it off right now.  So I've never heard it live.  [:'(]

 Rhett, if you're reading this, please recall that you promised to come back to Toronto this spring or summer and play Adelaide....We're waiting (not so) patiently!

When I first got BIOG, my favorite was Early Morning.  Then it was Color Of A Lonely Heart.  Right now my favorite is Here's To The Halcyon.  I'm sure it will probably change again.

My favorite has to be "The Color of a Lonely Heart is Blue."

Simply perfect. 

Even in trying to pick my "current" favorite is hard (as I am sure you would all agree) because the second I decide, my brain jumps to another one l love as well.  However, I will say Doreen is a great example of why the Old 97's rule and are so beloved.  You can listen to it as a fast rocker on Alive and Wired or can tap your foot to the blue grassy version on Hitchhike to Rhome or enjoy an even different version still on Wreck Your Life, and of course seeing them live is a whole other level of love.  Even though I listen to lots of different music, and I love music in general, I listen to either the Old 97's or Rhett Miller most consistently because I never get tired of them, and I think the variety they bring to their music is why.  Not to mention that their lyrics just blow me away, which is the English teacher in me coming out; I am a word geek.

I've always been a sucker for the twisty lyrics in Curtain Calls. Second all-time favorite is The Villain. Don't know why, but I just love the line "get bent like a bottle cap!"

It changes from week to week. Right now, "No Baby I" and "The Easy Way" are neck-and-neck for song of the week. Last week it was "The Villain".

Only been a fan for about a year but my fave is and probably always will be Making Love With You.

Actually picked the Bloodshot sampler just for this song and as a result I'm developing a love for alt-country.

For you longtime fans...is this a popular song and do they ever play it live?

Old Familiar Steam, the guitars, the lyrics, the beat, everything, I love this song, reminds me of Texas, with my Dad in the dancehalls, those were good times
