    Raleigh, NC

    Hey all,

I'm hoping to catch the band at Moore Square later this month. I've never been there, any advice on where to park or how to navigate the place? Also, I'm assuming the Old 97's won't be taking the stage at 2:00pm, as listed on this site (what with all the warmup bands playing that day as well). Is 9:00pm more reasonable to expect?

     Thanks for any help!

    Re: Raleigh, NC

I live in Raleigh and go to the Downtown Live events all the time.

There is a parking deck right next to Moore Square that you can park at for a fee - around $5 or $7.  I don't know exactly how much because I park at the free deck just a block away.  It is on Wilmington Street on the left just past E. Hargett (heading North).  It's a commuter lot that's free and open on weekends.  Get a map of the area and you should be able to find your way there.  It's gridded out in downtown though some of the one ways will drive you mad.

The Old 97's are the headliner and won't play until 9pm.  But the music and fun starts at 2pm.

Look here for the best info on the event. http://raleighdowntownlive.com/scheduleDetails.php?date=2008-07-26 .  Look to this site as to what you can bring in and what you can't.  I don't recommend trying to bring in anything that you shouldn't - security inspects.

Beers are $4 and you can find 16 oz cans or 22 oz drafts.  You can come and go as you please.  There are several restaurants w/bars around if you don't want to spend your money at Moore Square.

    Have fun!

    Great show tonight!

I've been a fan of the band for years but this was my first time getting to see them live, and I hate that I've missed that.

     Setlist:

    1. The Fool

    2. Barrier Reef

    3. King of All the World

    4. Weightless

    5. Victoria

    6. Color of a Lonely Heart is Blue

    7. Oppenheimer

    8. My Two Feet

    9. Early Morning

    10. Stoned

    11. Crash on the Barrelhead

    12. Rollerskate Skinny

    13. Designs on You

    14. The One

    15. Question

    16. Smokers

    17. Doreen

    18. Time Bomb

    Encore:

    19. Dance with Me

    20. Melt Show

    21. Four-Leaf Clover

Actually ran into Murry after the show and shook his hand. My wife just had to tell him that her husband (that's me) had proposed with the lyrics from 'Question.' He said, "Well, I hope he you said 'Yes!'" She did. Great fun tonight, and I hope it's not too long before they come back.

The show in Raleigh was excellent!  This was the first time I've seen them live.  I was very close to the stage and my husband came and found me during "Question."  We danced in the crowd.

My husband proposed to me at Sullivan's.  It was video taped and we played "Question" to it and used it as our wedding song as well.  It's such a great song.

I have some great pics from that night.  I'll try to get them loaded for all to see very soon.  Big Smile
