    Hi From Doylestown, PA

    Hi Everyone!

I'm new to the community, but not as a fan. My (now) husband and I have been a Old97's fans for several years now. They have wonderful music and I just love how their music are like short stories. As a writer I really enjoy that. I'm looking forward to their next concert here in Philadelphia!

Looking forward to talking to all of you!

    Lisa

Hooray for writers! I *love* short stories myself (fiction major) -- any recommended favorite authors, or does the band remind you of anyone in particular?

hello!! I love short stories. I found that a lot of my favorite short stories are by Stephen King. Not a lot of his horror stories, but his shorter stories that I like were made into movies called Stand By Me and Shawshank Redemption. I love those stories! I really like Anna Quindlen, Ernest Hemingway, Don DeLillo, Agatha Christie, F. Scott Fitzgerald...the list goes on! Any great writers that you can recommend to me? I just love to read and write! I guess that's why I'm becoming and English teacher!

Hooray for teachers! As I figure out *what I want to do* (ha) I haven't ruled out high school English teaching...what kind of teaching do you want to do, and what's your experience been with it so far? I love David Sedaris, I just reread Matilda by Roald Dahl--childhood favorite that is simply *marvelous*--and I've also been trying to read more Tennessee Williams.
