I bought the new album from iTunes and got the special edition with bonus songs and a video.  My question is about the lyrics to one of the bonus "demo" tracks, Motorcycle Club.  The part of the chorus that goes, " that's not a girl it's a long black _________, " I have NO IDEA what Rhett is singing at the end of that line!  Driving me nuts.  Can't wait to see them, it's been too long!  Also, loving "Here's to the Halcyon."  My 4 year old daughter loves this album, and I do too!

With my admittedly flawed ears, I hear that line as

"that's not a girl you know, it's a long black cloud of love."

 Quoi?

 

Best line:  "His name was Gunner, he was her father, he was a Pistolero."

You are correct, I actually got to call BXR, our local radio station, the day they were in Columbia, MO, and ask Rhett to clarify the lyrics, and he confirms it is a "long black cloud of love."  

*He had one glass eyeball, the guy that got him, had to use brass knuckles.  It's a great song, I really like Here's to the Halcyon too, I think it's my favorite one on the album.
