    Southgate Show

I have never had as much fun at a concert as I did last night at the show in Newport!  Fantastic show, wonderful crowd, and great energy!  I don't think I stopped dancing at any point!

Thank you for a perfect night!

    Re: Southgate Show

It was great to see The 97's again & the first time I'd seen a show at Southgate House.

What a wonderful surprise to hear "Bloomington."

I only wish I could catch them one more time in 2008...

    Re: Southgate Show

The show was fun and Bloomington was indeed an unexpected pleasure (especially since I went to college in a Bloomington and like to think the song was written about it - no need to tell me if I'm right on this one).

Unfortunately, the Southgate House was a bit of a disappointment. The look and feel have  started to cross the line from "quirky dive" to "neglected old house". More importantly, the sound and lighting weren't great. The vocals were hard to distinguish at times (we went with my sister who hadn't heard much of the music and I know she had trouble picking up the lyrics) and poor Murray played in the dark much of the night.

Still, any evening spent with the Old 97s is a good one. It was fun to hear them play some songs I hadn't heard in concert before.

Now, if we can just convince the boys to make more frequent stops in Indiana so I don't always have to leave the state to see them!

    Re: Southgate Show

I thought that the show was great, as did all the people I convinced to go with me. I thought it was better than the last Old 97's show at Southgate. My favorite show ever is still the Too Far To Care concert at Top Cat's in Cincinnati.

I saw the young lady dancing in the balcony, too. She was rockin' out for certain!

My question is, does anyone have a setlist from the show? There were at least 1 or 2 songs I didn't recognize/remember.

    Thanks!
